HAPPY NEW YEAR !! 

What a great year 2011 was for the model railroad hobby!  There were lots of new product, lots of great shows and a lot of fun operating sessions across the United States.  We at InterMountain had the best year in our 22 year history and expect more of the same for 2012.  While there has  been somewhat of a slowdown in the product flow from offshore during the past three years due to significant changes in the major Chinese model train manufacturer, other companies have taken up the slack and 2012 should see a big improvement in the timing and volume of new product for the hobby.  As always, our hobby is driven by new product and InterMountain intends to lead the way with new and exciting projects in the coming year. 

ROKUHAN 

Rokuhan continues to release new items in their “Z” scale line.  This month we have announced seven new track items as well as a very attractive diesel locomotive and a tree set with 36 pieces included in the package.  Be sure to review the Rokuhan sheets in this month’s information. 

HO SD40-2 

This locomotive was first produced in the early 1970’s and production continued through 1989.  Nearly 4,000 of these eclectic locomotives were built, with nearly 700 of them going to Canadian owners.  In its time it was the best selling locomotive in the history of EMD.  Its 3,000 hp level was maintained throughout its production.  Virtually every significant user of locomotive power owned this dynamic diesel.  Many of them are still in service today. 

InterMountain intends to offer every configuration produced by EMD.  Many different parts have been designed to make this possible.  The paint schemes that are planned are too numerous to mention.  In this month’s initial release we have announced the first eight for your consideration.  We will follow up with more choices every three or four months during the next two or three years.  In addition to the prototypical variations, we will be releasing historic paint schemes in the future as an addition to InterMountain’s “Famous Image Collector Series”.  All non-sound units will be equipped with motor controller boards for easy use on either DC or DCC systems without modification.   All releases will be available either with or without factory installed Tsunami ® sound.      

HO FT LOCOMOTIVES                       

The second offering of the HO FT locomotives is included in this month’s releases.  Shipping will begin during the week of January 23^rd.  Be sure to confirm your reservations early as these runs are close to being sold out.
